Overview

Astrodyne TDI is looking for an Electrical Engineer who is hands-on and enjoys working with a multidisciplinary team on the development of innovative products. The Electrical Engineer I will create and execute Design Verification and Qualification test plans for developed products. The Electrical Engineer I will work in conjunction with a Principle/Sr. Engineer in the development of power conversion, power control and system communication products based on customer and company input. Engineer is responsible for the end product meeting specified performance, cost and schedule targets. The Electrical Engineer I will communicate directly with customers, assuring design alignment with intended application and other goals, while a great number of decisions will need to be checked by Sr/Principle Engineers, The Electrical Engineer will be encouraged to take a lead role in project development. 

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of electronic schematic diagrams and part lists
  • Input in product’s mechanical design
  • Preparation of component stress documentation charts and computed mean time between failure (MTBF) analyses
  • Debug testing and design verification testing of prototypes
  • Execution of product reliability assurance testing
  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of engineering documentation (BOM, drawings, ECN etc.)
  • Closely work and share information with teammates and project managers as well as other cross function department
  • Support New Product Introduction team and production on project transfer and testing
  • Work with technicians or individually debugging and testing prototypes
  • Analysis and troubleshooting of complex power electronic topologies.
  • Design of control circuits for power supply topologies
  • Design of not so complex magnetics.
  • Makes decisions on projects and reports decisions to Sr./Principle Engineers.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.  Proficiency in the use of Design aid tools like PSpice and Mathcad and understanding of principles of Electromagnetism and Theory of control. Must have proficiency with digital design and different communication protocols and Exposure to EMC troubleshooting. Good communication and writing skills is also a must.
