Overview

Astrodyne TDI is looking for hands-on individuals who enjoy rolling up their sleeves and working with a multidisciplinary team on the development of innovative products. Our Sustaining Engineers will aid operations maintaining production levels by addressing all engineering issues that arose during the build process of military switching mode power supplies. Sustaining Engineers are responsible for addressing components obsolescence, and help troubleshooting of In-process failure trends. Sustaining Engineers will interact with all functional teams in the company. As a member of the Engineering team, the sustaining engineer will not only be expected to work with active products but will interact with the front end of the design process.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and address failure trends in the built process of Switch Mode Power Supplies.
  • Aid Operation Technicians in the troubleshooting of in-process failures.
  • Identify replacement/second source components to address components obsolescence issues.
  • Prepare test regime and report for qualification of second source components.
  • Write engineering change orders to document component changes
  • Help mentoring/training of operations technicians on best practices for troubleshooting.
  • Interact with customer and internal stakeholders to explain failure modes and corrective actions

 

Qualifications

KEY CANDIDATE APTITTUDE:

 

  • Preferred candidates will have experience in troubleshooting of Switching Mode Power Supplies
  • Preferred candidates will have had experience Identifying second source of components
  • Preferred candidates will have demonstrated “taking initiative”; and understanding process flows

 

OTHER RELEVANT EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • Troubleshooting of Switch Mode Power Supplies
  • Experience in debugging embedded microcontroller circuits
  • Leadership skills to drive projects to happen on time
  • Good communication skills

 

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

Associated or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required

 

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

3-4 year minimum
