Astrodyne TDI is looking for a Supply Chain Manager with experience in electronic and electro-mechanical components and manufacturing to oversee the global execution of our material purchasing strategy. Strong technical knowledge of all supply chain disciplines including purchasing, planning, logistics, commodity management, and supplier management is desired. This position will interface with the supply base, engineering, management, factory operations, and purchasing. This position is responsible to analyze the company spend and determine strategies to optimize cost and flexibility.  The position will support all factories globally and will administer the company sourcing strategy and manage supplier relationships. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Global Operations and is critical to the success of the company objectives. Travel is estimated to be fifteen percent for both domestic and international suppliers.




Job Description and Responsibilities:


Develops supply chain plans to meet our commodity sourcing strategy and site performance metrics.

  • Minimum five years of experience in supply chain operations: purchasing, planning, logistics, warehouse, or supplier relations
  • Ability to analyze and understand our material spend to optimize cost, lead time and flexibility for the engineering and operations departments
  • This position is internally focused requiring coordination of all participating departments to accept and implement the optimized sourcing strategy
  • This position also has an external requirement to manage supplier relationships
  • Global negotiations with the supply base will occur annually, and this position will champion the creation of the required materials and lead all supplier engagements
  • Work closely with the finance controller of the power business to plan and execute annual budgets and cost management projects
  • Excellent work ethic and energy to maintain a positive work environment globally
  • Support engineering development and new production introduction as programs migrate from the engineering lab to the manufacturing locations
  • Hands-on leadership skills who enjoy problem-solving and working directly with all levels of management


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not immediately have direct reports, but the opportunity to expand responsibility and add two to three direct reports is possible both domestically and overseas
  • Create a positive, team-oriented environment where fun and hard work is rewarded
  • Work with local management to deliver performance feedback and upgrade staff as necessary
  • Possesses the ability to influence and drive other internal organizations to solve problems across functional organizations


Education & Experience:


A Bachelor’s Degree is required and a minimum of five years of experience in the manufacturing of electrical printed circuit boards and associated light assembly. Proven experience in setting and meeting business objectives and working in a cross-functional environment. Must be detail oriented with strong excel and communication skills. Must also be an excellent team player and be able to adopt quickly to changing priorities.
