Overview

Position Summary:

Astrodyne TDI is looking for a Director of Quality who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams on the development of innovative products while working in a team environment.

The Director of Quality will promote quality achievement and performance improvements at a projects and organizational level. 

This person will create and maintain the integrity of the quality system and oversees compliance with the QMS standards and customer requirements in regard to management, process, and products.  This individual will work with the operational management team to maintain and implement quality systems while driving and facilitating continual improvement.

The Director of Quality should promote Six Sigma Quality tools, works with all departments to solve customer/product /supplier quality issues, and should be well experienced with AS9100 audits.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs QMS Internal Assessment program
  • Reviews, approves changes SOPs, Quality Manual and other QMS documents ensuring alignment with Corporate Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
  • Reviews, approves engineering change notices (ECN’s)
  • Responsible for the QMS with all departments at all stages of operations from product development through end item completion
  • Coaches all departments in good quality/manufacturing practices
  • Works with all departments to solve customer/product /supplier quality issues
  • Assists with resolution of operational or process problems regarding quality issues
  • Participates in Nonconforming material; material review board (MRB)
  • Responsible for ensuring training of personnel of QMS policies & procedures and
  • Provides training of personnel QMS System
  • Defines, implements, monitors and analyzes results of QMS measurement metrics, records and documents results
  • Apply investigative techniques to uncover problems, recommend corrective actions, and partner with Operations to implement preventative programs for sustained improvement
  • Manages and Performs QMS Internal Assessment schedule/program
  • Certified auditor for ISO9001 and or AS9100
  • Lead in Customer/ Third Party Audits
  • Lead corrective action plans in regards to Customer and Third Party Audit results
  • Assists with completion of customer quality surveys
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Prepares reports to communicate trends and findings and makes recommendations as appropriate for Management Review activitiPromotes Six Sigma quality tools

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 10 plus years of experience in a Mechanical, Electrical, or Electrons environment
  • Strong knowledge with comprehension of quality procedures, systems, and compliance standards and specifications.
  • The candidate must be a certified auditor for ISO9001/AS9100.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Production, KAIZEN
  • This person will be customer-oriented, and must have the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
