Overview

BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF JOB:

The PCB / Electronic Assembly Inspector will be responsible for performing visual inspection of assembled PCBs for workmanship in accordance with IPC-A-610. Inspections are performed per drawings and/or Bill of Materials (BOM).

Responsibilities

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Verification of correct SMT, automatically inserted, and manual component placement, including proper

     component polarity and proper orientation for parts such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, LED’s, transistors, ICs,

     and quad flat-packs.

  • Inspection / Acceptance of soldering (manual and automated wave solder)
  • Inspection of Wiring; crimping, correct insertion points, solder joints
  • Inspection of SMT touch-up
  • Inspection of Re-worked assembled PCBs
  • Electronic assembly verification using templates and fixtures
  • Communicate all non-compliances and related issues to Supervisor immediately
  • Enter Inspection data into the EPICOR database

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION and TRAINING REQUIRED: 

High School Diploma/GED

 

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

1-3 years minimum experience

 

OTHER REQUIRED TRAINING:

  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 Class 2 & 3; Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies is preferred
  • Soldering experience preferred
  • Some mechanical assembly experience is required
  • Ability to read assembly drawings, prints, and parts lists
  • Experience using manufacturing based ERP systems preferred
